Disk Drive Not Showing Up In My Computer [FIX]

One common problems people face in everyday computer issues is disk drive disappearing from where its supposed to show up, as a result making the rom not work at all.. Before one tries to open the computer to check the connectivity of the cable of the CD ROM to the computer, it is very necessary to work around it before. In most cases you will be surprised to know its a problem from the registry which can be solved with the REGEDIT. Below are steps to help solve the issue, if any problem is faced, let me know in the comment. And it should be noted the REGEDIT is not a playground for a newbie as it can halt the performance of the computer with only a mistake.

1. Click Start, then Run, then enter REGEDIT to open the Registry Editor
2. Navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Class entry
3. Under the Class entry, double click on {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} (please note, there are similar registry numbers similar to this but it should match exactly this)
4. In the right-hand panel, click ONCE to select the UpperFilters entry
5. Make sure the UpperFilters entry is highlighted, press Delete, then Yes.
6. In the right-hand panel, click ONCE to select the LowerFilters entry
7. Make sure the LowerFilters entry is highlighted, press Delete, then Yes.
8. Close the Registry Editor by clicking File, Exit.
9. Take a little prayer....lol
10. Check if the Disk Drive is showing in My Computer
11. Say Thank you..
